Under the Patronage of CEO Ahmed Al Ali Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) Inaugurates “Etihad Sports Tournament” 2023


     Under the patronage of Eng. Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, CEO of Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE), the opening ceremony of the "Etihad Sports Tournament" took place yesterday, Friday, in the presence of several officials, a large gathering of employees, and some of their family members. Organized by EtihadWE during the blessed month of Ramadan, the tournament features various games, including football, basketball, table tennis, cricket, badminton, padel, billiards, and chess.

     The CEO of EtihadWE began his speech about the tournament by extending warm congratulations to HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses, members of the Federal Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates, and to all citizens and residents on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan.
 
     Al Ali stated that the tournament has been organized in response to the directives of the UAE's leadership to encourage sports as a vital pillar in promoting societal cohesion and spreading values of happiness and positivity. He emphasized the significant role that sports play in achieving personal and professional success, and expressed his full support for the tournament and its organizers. The CEO also affirmed his commitment to ensuring its complete success.

     The tournament commenced with the opening match featuring "Central Region" and "West B Customer Happiness" teams, followed by several other matches within the three groups constituting the tournament teams. Other accompanying games and activities also started. The tournament matches are set to resume on Sundays and Fridays, leading up to the final match and the closing ceremony, scheduled for the 18th of Ramadan.
