Ras Al Khaimah Municipality and Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) have announced the launch of a strategic partnership to advance digital integration in tenancy contract services, marking a significant step in supporting the Emirate’s digital transformation objectives.
The launch ceremony was attended by H.E. Munther Mohammed bin Shekar, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, and Eng. Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Water and Electricity, along with a number of senior officials from both entities.
The partnership aims to establish direct electronic integration between the Municipality’s tenancy contract attestation systems and EtihadWE’s service systems, enabling secure and real-time data exchange. This integration ensures greater data accuracy and accelerates the activation of electricity and water services immediately upon contract approval, contributing to reduced processing times and an enhanced customer experience.
The initiative also introduces a streamlined mechanism for collecting tenancy contract attestation fees through EtihadWE’s monthly utility bill, with the amount distributed over a 12-month period. This approach simplifies the customer journey and reduces the need for multiple transactions and procedural steps.
H.E. Munther Mohammed bin Shekar stated that the partnership represents an advanced milestone in the development of government services, noting that the Municipality continues to pursue a strategic vision centred on process automation, database integration, and re-engineering of procedures to enhance operational efficiency and elevate service quality.
His Excellency added that the tenancy contract attestation service has undergone a comprehensive development programme, transitioning from a traditional procedural framework to an advanced digital model based on automated verification, electronic signatures, digital identity, and reduced documentation, culminating in full institutional integration with partner entities.
For his part, Eng. Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, CEO of Etihad Water and Electricity, said: “This partnership reflects a practical model of government integration that shortens the customer journey and strengthens secure data exchange between entities, resulting in faster service delivery and greater procedural accuracy.”
He further expressed his appreciation for the collaboration with Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, highlighting that the initiative delivers a more seamless customer journey through digital service integration and simplified fee collection mechanisms, in line with the UAE’s direction towards zero bureaucracy and a more efficient, integrated government service model.
The launch of this partnership forms part of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality’s broader efforts to expand integration with federal and local entities and to reinforce a fully integrated digital government model that enhances the Emirate’s competitiveness and quality of life.
