Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) participated in the 8th edition of the UAE Sports Day activities, which were held this year under the slogan "The UAE Unite Us.”

According to Eng. Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, the CEO, this participation is in response to the leadership’s directives to encourage individuals to regularly engage in sports as it is an essential factor on the path to both personal and professional success, and a means to spread values of happiness and positivity in society.

Al Ali added that sport has become an essential aspect in advanced countries worldwide and making it a regular lifestyle practice in UAE society enhances happiness and social cohesion. This represents a fundamental pillar of the UAE Centennial Plan 2071, which aims to make the UAE the best country in the world.

Days ago, the General Authority for Sports (GAS) and the National Olympic Committee (NOC) designated the First Thursday of March as the UAE Sports Day and called on all institutions to participate in its activities to promote the presence of sports in society and affirm the values of social cohesion and cultural integration in the UAE. In response, various sports activities were organized at the EtihadWE's branch in the Eastern Region, where a large number of employees and a group of strategic partners from the government sector participated.
