Etihad Water and Electricity organized an initiative on the occasion of the World Water Day, which falls on March 22 of each year, through which it communicated with the public with the aim of raising awareness about this vital resource and informing of its efforts to contribute to achieving the UAE Water Security Strategy 2036.
The EtihadWE's teams were present during the period from 22 to 24 March in a number of major shopping centers in the northern regions, including Manar Mall in Ras Al Khaimah and Mall of UAQ, where they received a number of public and visitors.
The Director General of Etihad Water and Electricity had stated on this occasion a few days ago that the wise leadership in the UAE realizes the importance of water as an indispensable resource to achieve the sustainability of the national economy, pointing to the role of EtihadWE in achieving the Water Security Strategy, through the abundance of desalinated water production expressed by the new Umm Al Quwain desalination plant with a capacity of 150 million gallons per day, in addition to projects to raise storage capacity to 500 million gallons, as well as extending the networks. He also called for the continuation of partnerships between governments, the private sector and civil society organizations in order to provide sustainable solutions in this resource.
It is noteworthy that World Water Day is one of the international events declared or sponsored by the United Nations and aimed at educating the public on general issues of common interest.
