Eng. Yousif Ahmed Al Ali

Eng. Yousif Ahmed Al Ali leads Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) as its Chief Executive Officer, playing a pivotal role in advancing the sustainable growth of the UAE’s energy and utilities sector. Under his leadership, the company supports the achievement of several national strategies, including the UAE Water Security Strategy 2036, the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, and the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategy, through various strategic initiatives.

With over two decades of experience in the energy, engineering, and petrochemical industries, as well as investment and strategic project management, Eng. Al Ali also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the NAQA’A Desalination Plant. This facility produces 150 billion gallons daily, making it one of the largest of its kind globally, reflecting his commitment to enhancing UAE's infrastructure and water resource sustainability.

Prior to joining EtihadWE, Eng. Yousif Al Ali held significant roles that profoundly influenced the energy sector. As Assistant Undersecretary for Electricity, Water & Future Energy Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, he was instrumental in shaping national energy policies. His previous role as Executive Director of the Masdar Clean Energy Unit involved overseeing global renewable energy projects, managing investment strategies and operations that bolstered the UAE’s leadership in clean energy innovation.

Eng. Yousif Al Ali holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from IE Business School in Madrid and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from UAE University. He is also a Certified Professional in Project Management, underscoring his dedication to professional excellence and strategic leadership.
