Etihad Water and Electricity Company (EtihadWE), in pursuit of strategic partnerships and aligning with national sustainability goals, has teamed up with Ras Al Khaimah Municipality to launch the "Manzily Energy Advice Service." This collaboration aims to motivate UAE citizens in Ras Al Khaimah to reduce household electricity consumption by offering attractive incentives.
Engineer Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, CEO of Etihad Water and Electricity, and His Excellency Munther Mohammed Bin Shekar, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, signed this agreement in the presence of officials from both sides.
Al Ali explained that this initiative encourages responsible lifestyles in the UAE community and contributes to the climate neutrality goals. It also supports Ras Al Khaimah's 2040 Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Strategy.
This service is available to all UAE citizen customers of EtihadWE residing in Ras Al Khaimah, subject to specific conditions including obtaining an "Energy Assessment Report" from the municipality and not being eligible for the inflation allowance.
Al Ali reaffirmed the Company’s dedication to instilling a culture of energy consumption conservation and promoting responsible practices concerning energy and natural resources within the UAE society. “Through this partnership with Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, exemplified by the ‘Manzily Energy Advice service,’ we actively fostering an encouraging environment for adopting a sustainable and greener lifestyle among UAE citizens while reaping financial benefits. Together with Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, we support the UAE’s efforts in achieving its strategic national objectives and underline our joint commitment to realizing the sought-after sustainability.”
Echoing these sentiments, His Excellency Munther Mohammad Bin Shekar, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, highlighted, “Through the Manzily Energy Advice service, we are encouraging Emirati residents in Ras Al Khaimah to play an active role in shaping a more sustainable future. By partnering with EtihadWE, we are introducing a stronger financial incentive for Emiratis to adopt energy conservation measures in their homes, therefore contributing to our shared vision of a greener UAE while saving on their energy bills.”
Registration for the service is conducted online. A specialized team from Ras Al Khaimah Municipality will do a free assessment of home electrical energy consumption. Subsequently, a report with specific recommendations for energy-efficient practices will be issued. Based on the report's results, customer enrolment in the initiative will be completed, with a three-year duration from the start date.
Rewards are calculated based on points added to the customer's account, displayed in the monthly bill, in exchange for reduced electricity usage compared to a baseline year (one dirham reduction for every dirham saved). This calculation occurs after one full year of service subscription. The maximum reward value is 50% of the corresponding consumption amount in the baseline year.
