The inaugural edition of the Etihad Sports Tournament came to a close with great enthusiasm and fanfare during a festive Ramadan evening, organized by Etihad Water and Electricity and held under the patronage of the company's CEO, Eng. Yousif Ahmed Al Ali.
The tournament's highlight was the football final between the Northern Area and Finance Department teams, with the Northern Area emerging victorious with a score of 3-1, earning them the championship title.
Additionally, the tournament featured intense competitions in other sports, with Mohamed Ahmed AbdulKhalek winning the table tennis championship, Saud Al Jahouri and Saif Mohammed claiming the padel championship, and Nabil Al Rahman and Jijo Jose winning the badminton championship. Ehab Abdel Wahab Ibrahim was crowned the chess champion.
During the closing ceremony, the tournament's top performers were recognized, including Faisal Omar who won the Best Player award, Ali Mohammed Salim who was crowned the Top Scorer of the tournament, and Hassan Sulaiman Al Shehhi who was named Best Goalkeeper. Mamoon Salim won the Ideal Player award, and Saddam Adnan, coach of the Ajman team, was awarded the Best Coach award. The ceremony also acknowledged the tournament's referees and commentators, and thanked the sponsors Scan Electromechanical Contracting Co. and Lavish Perfumes for their support.
