FEWA Continues to Work on the New Water Desalination Plant in UAQ

​The Federal Electricity and Water Authority continues its efforts to contribute to achieving the UAE Water Security Strategy 2036, including the new water desalination plant in Umm Al Quwain, which is one of the Authority's most important projects at the present time.
Mohammed Mohammed Saleh, Director General of the Authority, inspected the sites of the first phase of the plant transmission pipelines, and listened to a detailed explanation of the progress of work from the Executive Director of the Water Directorate, Aaref Ahmad Berhama, and the supervising team, where he was informed of the completion of about 50% of the works plans.
This phase includes the implementation of a 1,200 mm diameter transmission pipeline from the plant towards the Emirates of Umm Al Quwain and Ajman, where 30 million gallons per day will be transmitted, and a line of 1000 mm diameter to the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, where 20 million gallons per day will be transmitted.
The Director General of the Authority concluded his tour by visiting the new water storage and distribution center in Al-Khuraijah area in Ras Al-Khaimah, which has a capacity of 150 million gallons, where he was briefed on the progress of the preparing works before starting the construction work.
