EtihadWE Shared Expertise and Insights at WFES on Opportunities and Challenges Facing the Energy Sector

​Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) took a prominent role as a panelist and exhibitor at the high-profile World Future Energy Summit held in Abu Dhabi from 16th to 18th April, reaffirming its commitment to supporting an energy sector striving for a more sustainable future.

Reflecting the innovative and forward-thinking nature of the Summit, EtihadWE also brought to the World Future Energy Summit its insights and knowledge about the latest advancements in energy technology and customer service. Senior officials engaged in summit discussions, led by CEO Eng. Yousif Al Ali, who spoke on the growing global importance of low-carbon, long-distance energy transmission.

 

The company's exhibition stand featured presentations and discussions led by thought leaders and experts. In this context, Youssef Souissi, Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, discussed the company's long-term strategy to reduce non-revenue water, and Eng. Ahmed Alsuwaidi, Vice President of Asset Management, participated in discussions about the role of the privatization in developing water resources and ensuring their security.

In addition, Eng. Adel Hassan, Senior Advisor at EtihadWE, presented a case study on the Naqa'a reverse osmosis desalination plant, highlighting technological advancements and sustainable solutions in water treatment. Sofian Demdoum, Head of Corporate Strategy, highlighted the accelerated adoption of electric vehicles in the UAE, and Muhamad Tahir Afridi, Manager of Fixed Assets, participated in discussions on the future of financing in water projects. Dr. Najib Dandachi, CEO of Al Usul Ltd., also discussed opportunities and developments in asset management in growing regions like the GCC.

On the first day of the summit, EtihadWE renewed its commitment to supporting sustainable economic growth by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Masdar, aimed at exploring collaboration opportunities and potential projects that enhance the adoption of renewable energy in the UAE's northern emirates.​
